Seattle Mariners Shocking Stats: Starting Pitchers are 1-3 with a 5.85 ERA and averaging just 5.2 innings

Coming into the season, it was common knowledge that the Seattle Mariners had one of the top two rotations in baseball along with the Washington Nationals. So to see the way they had struggled thus far has been shocking, to say the least.

Taijuan Walker got blasted for nine earned runs in 3.1 innings in Oakland, which is especially surprising given how dominant he was in spring training. Hisashi Iwakuma uncharacteristically gave up four runs and nine hits in 6.0 innings against the Anaheim Angels. The only starter with an ERA under three is fifth-starter J.A. Happ.
