4) Three-Point Defense

Superior teams get upset when a smaller team gets hot from outside. This is something that Gonzaga is really good at defending. They rank 81st out of 345 division 1 teams, and play in a conference with some of the best shooting teams in the country in BYU and Saint Mary’s.

North Dakota State G Lawrence Alexander is the kind of player who can catch fire and take over a game. He did exactly that last season inside Spokane Arena as NDSU took out fifth seeded Oklahoma. And a possible matchup with Davidson in the second round is looming, so Gonzaga’s perimeter defense will serve them well.
