Washington Huskies Football End Of Season Awards Best Freshman: Buddha Baker
Unfortunately, the high school I went to would always face Bellevue in the State quarterfinals, so the season Baker had was no surprise to me.
He was named a first-team Freshman All-American by Sports Illustrated, ESPN, Scout, and others. He was also an honorable mention All-Pac 12 performer.
Baker finished the season with 80 tackles (fourth on the team), two tackles for loss, one sack, seven passes defended, three forced fumblesm and this ridiculous O’dell Beckham Jr. impression.
Honorable Mention: Sidney Jones
The loss of Marcus Peters was in large part offset due to the fantastic play of Sidney Jones. He was as consistent as you could possibly hope for as a freshman and had two HUGE interceptions against the Arizona Wildcats. He is going to be a shutdown corner for the Dawgs.
Honorable Mention: Lavon Coleman
Coleman was the Huskies’ second leading rusher and flashed big-time potential.
