Seahawks Vs. Panthers Position-By-Position Preview: Offensive Line

Center Ryan Kalil leads this group for Carolina. He has played in four Pro Bowls including last season and has had a solid season this year as well. RT Mike Remmers is the other lineman to mention. The former Oregon State walk-on and undrafted free agent has finally found a team in his third season after spending his first two years with five different teams and not playing a down. Kalil was given a perfect grade in pass-protection in his first start against the New Orleans Saints in week 14.

Overall, Carolina has a decent group who will especially excel in run-blocking.

Max Unger is expected back this week. Hallelujah! The ‘Hawks still could have issues in pass-protection however. Seattle, and James Carpenter especially, has gotten absolutely destroyed by athletic defensive tackles this season. Carolina’s Star Lotulelei is as explosive and powerful as they come, but will be out with an injury.

The two teams were tied for 20th in the NFL with 42 sacks given up in the regular season.
