Randy Johnson Wants Edgar Martinez In The Hall Of Fame
Randy Johnson is a Hall of Famer. Or at least, a Hall of Famer-elect. He’s not officially in until July, but he’s in, for all practical purposes. He’s probably going to wear an Arizona Diamondbacks cap on his plaque, but that’s alright. Still one of the best and most important players in Seattle Mariners history.

Also one of the most important players in Seattle Mariners history? That would be one Edgar Martinez, the best DH of all time and one of the most beloved people in Seattle, ever. He’s been on the Hall of Fame ballot for a while, but has yet to get the call. Something about the position he played, we’re told.
You know what’s good for a guy’s Hall candidacy? Endorsements. To reach Cooperstown, Edgar needs some big name endorsements. And who better to have in your corner than the Big Unit himself?
In the wake of his induction, Randy Johnson has openly and publicly endorsed his long-time teammate for enshrinement. This comes shortly after another 2015 inductee, Pedro Martinez, called Edgar “the best hitter I ever saw.”
Johnson and Martinez may well be the two best pitchers of the last thirty years. They’ve both taken the chance to sing Edgar’s praises since being elected to the Hall. Who else do you need to hear it from, if not these two?
If Randy Johnson had a Hall of Fame ballot, he’d put Edgar Martinez on it. Same goes for Pedro Martinez. Those are all-time great pitchers, dolling out the highest of praise on an all-time great hitter. There should be no arguing: Edgar Martinez belongs in the Hall of Fame!
