ESPN Anchor Stuart Scott Passes Away At 49
By Paul Novak
This isn’t necessarily directly related to any of the Seattle sports teams, but it does affect many of us who have loved sports for many years and grew up watching and to some degree idolizing sports journalists.
Stuart Scott, the revolutionary ESPN sports anchor that so many of us grew up watching and learning from, has passed away at the age of 49 after a long battle with cancer.
Many former and current colleagues have commented on their personal relationship with Scott and the two that have stood out the most are former ESPN Sportscenter anchor Rich Eisen, who is now with NFL Network, and ESPN’s Hannah Storm.
I, for one, felt much more saddened by his passing than I would have ever imagined. I would highly suggest you take two or three minutes out of your day to view the two video tributes by Eisen and Storm and honor the man that not only accentuated the joy we got from sports but that also fought a courageous battle with cancer for so long.
You will be missed, and you will never be forgotten. Prayers go out to the Scott family and especially his two young daughters, Taelor and Sydni.
RIP Stuart Scott
Booyah! Cooler than the other side of the pillow! Call him butter cuz he’s on a roll!
