UW basketball hasn’t quite been up to standard the past few years. There’s no denying it.

But do you know who set that standard?

From 1954-2004, UW won two conference championships, zero conference tournament championships and sent just two teams to the Sweet 16.

From 2005-2013, Romar lead the Huskies to one Pac-10 championship, one Pac-12 championship, two Pac-10 tournament championships, one  Pac-12 tournament championship, and three Sweet 16 appearances.

From 2008-2011, when the Seahawks, Mariners and UW football would compete for who could be the most painful team to watch, UW basketball held it down for the Seattle sports scene.

With the team looking great so far this year, and a ridiculously talented 2015 class coming in next year, it won’t be long before Romar raises the bar for UW basketball even further than he has already set it.

Thank you, Lorenzo Romar.
