Connor Halliday Injured, WSU Career Could Be Over
If Washington State somehow managed to make a bowl game, Connor Halliday would have had a chance to break the all-time single season FBS record for passing yards.
This is no longer a possibility for two reasons:
A) WSU just lost their seventh game of the season, a 44-17 blowout at the hands of USC.
B) Halliday was carted off the field in an air cast following being sacked.
The injury appeared to be serious. Halliday could be seen writhing in pain and yelling before trainers arrived. USC defensive lineman Leonard Williams brought down Halliday just after releasing the ball. Williams fell on top of Halliday’s legs, causing a very ugly fall for the senior QB from Spokane.
It would be an unfortunate end if his career in Pullman is indeed over. Halliday does have a chance to play in the NFL, as long as this injury doesn’t scare off too many coaches. Halliday is rated as a 6th-7th round pick by nfldraftscout.com.
Freshman walk-on Luke Falk came on in relief of the record-breaking QB.
