Seahawks vs Redskins Grades

If you’re still somehow not a believer in Russell Wilson, you’re wrong. He made every play that had to be made for the Hawks to win this game. The list of historically great accomplishments by Russ in this game goes on and on. Most rushing yards by a QB on MNF, fifth QB ever to throw for 200 and two TD’s and run for 100 and one TD, best across body throw, best something out of nothing play. There is one QB in the NFL who could make that play, and his name is Russel Wilson. However, I will once again say that his one weakness still appears to be that he often doesn’t see open receivers. On one of his scrambles on the first drive, he had Kearse 10 yards behind the safety for a touchdown. He would hit Kearse for a score later in the drive anyway, but it still is something to keep an eye on.. QB. Seattle Seahawks. RUSSEL WILSON. A+

A. Wagner is without doubt one of the best all-around linebackers in the NFL. He not only leads the team in tackles, but has either lead or been tied for the most tackles in every single game. Wagner was all over the field on Monday with 9 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 1 sack and 3 passes defended. One of which was an unbelievable diving deflection on third down.. MLB. Seattle Seahawks. BOBBY WAGNER

A. Jon Ryan punted 6 times. Out of those 6, 5 were inside the 20 (the one touchback was a perfect punt that Josh Thomas missed). Of those 5 inside the 20, 3 were inside the 10. Of those three inside the ten, one was downed at the one yard line. And even with all that coffin-cornering, he still managed to average 43.3 yards per punt. And oh yeah, there was this.. P. Seattle Seahawks. JON RYAN

F. Of the 13 penalties called on the Hawks, a few were warranted, but many were downright awful. James Carpenter was called for unnecessary roughness for what offensive line coach Tom Cable called “finishing the block.” It was horrible. In the first half, on a third and four, Max Unger was called for “head bobbing” to get the Redskin defender to jump. Replays show he clearly did not even flinch. Russel would then be sacked on third and nine and the Hawks would punt. The amount of penalties in this game was atrocious and always seemed to come at the most inopportune times.. Ref. NFL. JEFF TRIPLETTE

D. There shouldn’t be much surprise here. Okung hit the triple crown of bad line play with false starts, holds and missed blocks. One of his holds was on a 17 yard run by Marshawn Lynch and a 12 yard run by Russel Wilson. Okung had issues all night with the speed of Brian Orakpo off the edge. Hopefully he gets it together before the Hawks have to face Robert Quinn, Chris Long and the Rams star studded defensive line in two weeks.. LT. Seattle Seahawks. RUSSELL OKUNG
