Stanford Cardinal vs. Washington Huskies: Who Will Win? (POLL)
By Todd Pheifer
The Washington Huskies are 4-0, but the road to a successful season just got a lot tougher. Washington will be at home for the fifth game of the season. However, they will be hosting the Stanford Cardinal, a team that is currently ranked #16 in the AP Poll, despite already losing one game.
Can Cyler Miles and the running attack of the Washington Huskies score points on the stingiest defense in the nation (4.3 PPG)? Will the Huskies be able to stop senior quarterback Kevin Hogan, given that the Dawgs have given up 25.3 points per game?
Granted, there is an outlier in that average since Eastern Washington dropped 52 on the Huskies in Week 2.
This game is a bit hard to predict. College football is hard enough to analyze early in the season, and this difficulty is compounded by the reality that many teams play inferior talent on the front end of the schedule. The SEC does this throughout the season, but we won’t go there.
If the Huskies can get by the Cardinal, their 5-0 start would certainly garner some national attention. Husky Stadium will be rocking, and the faithful fans will be ready to cheer on their Dawgs.
