A team in contention
We realize that “Mariners” and “playoff contender” have not been put in the same sentence for awhile, but this year it is for real. The Mariners are thick in the playoff race, and every game is crucial at this point.
When a team is vying for a playoff spot, particularly when that hasn’t happened in many years, the fans need to get out and support the product. Certainly the Mariners have been a tough franchise to watch in recent years, but this year is different.
Felix Hernandez. Hisashi Iwakuma. Robinson Cano. Kyle Seager. Fernando Rodney. These are genuine, bonafied stars. Enjoy their big years and put your emotional energy behind the quest for the playoffs.
