Mariners Breaking News: Felix Hernandez Pitcher of Month in June

Felix Hernandez has had a great month of June, and for his efforts he has been selected as the American League Pitcher of the Month. The National League winner was Clayton Kershaw, who has been dominant for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

During the month of June, King Felix was 3-1 with a 1.22 ERA in six starts. He pitched 44 1/3 innings and only gave up six runs. Hernandez struck out 44 batters over those six games, and only issued six walks.

In each of the six starts, Hernandez went at least seven innings. Hernandez was a key player in leading the Mariners to an 18-10 record in the month of June.
