Washington Huskies To Abandon Old Uniforms For New Style
Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports
During the offseason it’s hard for any sort of football news to slip through the cracks unnoticed, but somehow that’s what happened when the Huskies unveiled their new uniforms for 2014.
Nike is always looking forward, trying to think of new and innovative ways to stay ahead of it’s competition. As a result of having Nike as their sponsors, the University of Washington gets a new look for the Huskies football team. With the revealing of a new look, there are always fans who love them, and others who hate them. When the Seahawks did it, they faced criticism, as did the WSU Cougars, and any other team going for a more “modern look.”
The use of the color black is heavy in this one. Although the school’s colors are purple and gold, I have to admit, this new look is pretty slick. Maybe a new uniform could usher in a new era for the Huskies in 2014. It would be fun to have a great season the same year the team goes to a new look. Who knows? This is one of the many things that make football exciting.
