In just a few short hours, the Seattle Seahawks will be on the clock and we will finally know which players will be vying for spots on the roster. Here is the broadcast information for the draft:
Start time: 5 PM (PST)
Networks: ESPN, NFL Network
Trades are always a possibility, and the Seahawks would obviously like to have more selections. Thanks to the Percy Harvin deal last year, the ‘Hawks do not have a bevy of picks in the 2014 draft. Barring some last-minute deals, here is when the Seahawks will select:
First round: 32 (32)
Second round: 32 (64)
Fourth round: 32 (132)
Fifth round: 6 (146) – From Oakland Raiders
Fifth round: 32 (172)
Sixth round: 32 (208)
Not the best picks in the world, but that is the price of success in the NFL. Fans will trade a Super Bowl trophy for picks at the back of the draft. The Seahawks could go in a number of directions in this draft, but fans trust that John Schneider and Pete Carroll will find the talent needed to keep this team at the top.
The offensive line is arguably the greatest area of need, but that does not mean that we will automatically see a guard or tackle taken in the first round. After all, Carroll and Schneider are predictably unpredicable when it comes to their draft strategy.
Enjoy the draft!
