The Seattle Seahawks are in New York and the Denver Broncos are standing in their way of winning the first Lombardi Trophy in franchise history. The 12th Man is ready and will be rooting for the ‘Hawks from all around the globe.
Are you excited?
This may seem like a strange question, but it is a valid inquiry. After all, the fans want a win, and victory is not certain. This is not a situation where the Seahawks are just happy to make an appearance in New York.
Super Bowl appearances can be very rare, even for extremely talented teams. Just ask the San Francisco 49ers, who were a Richard Sherman deflection away from being the NFC representative in the big game.
Fans can be very loyal, and they should be. This franchise has had its ups and downs over the years, but the loyal Seahawks faithful have been there. Is it finally Seattle’s turn to hoist the trophy?
The challenge is that even loyal fans can be realistic. Peyton Manning is really good. The Broncos can score a lot of points. Russell Wilson is still a young quarterback. There is no guarantee that Marshawn Lynch will get going. Percy Harvin may be rusty or ineffective.
In other words, it is not wise to be overly confident. The Seahawks have the talent to win this game, but the Broncos are not going to go quietly into the night.
So, are you excited about the Super Bowl? Or will your nervousness stifle your ability to enjoy the big game?
