The Seattle Seahawks are heading to the playoffs and that is very exciting for football fans in the Emerald city. However, there are some questions that remain. There are questions about the general effectiveness of the offense, but there is also a lingering inquiry that has not been answered.
Specifically, will Percy Harvin make another appearance this season and provide Russell Wilson with a dynamic weapon?
It is perhaps too dramatic to suggest that Harvin’s status has been shrouded in mystery, but there have not been a lot of details surrounding his injury. Some of this is the gamesmanship of competition in the NFL, but it also makes you wonder whether things are not going particularly well.
That game against the Minnesota Vikings seems like it was a very long time ago.
Apparently Harvin is practicing, but we keep seeing certain words in stories about the Seahawks. In particular, we are seeing words like “may,” “could” and “might.” As in, Harvin may be back. He could return. We might see him in two weeks.
At this point of the season, there are no guarantees for the Seahawks. The safe prediction is to assume that Harvin will not return. Harvin remains a player that would be a nice bonus but should not be counted on to jumpstart the offense in the playoffs.
What may work in Harvin’s favor is that we are into the phase of the season where there is very little to lose. If you put Harvin on the field and he suffers a setback, you may not be any worse off than if he has waited until next September.
Stay tuned to the Harvin network. The next episode has yet to be scheduled.
