As Mariner fans we can expect that Jack Zduriencik is seriously considering each, especially given the teams need for both an outfielder and a leadoff hitter. Signing either one of Jacoby Ellsbury or Shin-Soo Choo would kill two birds with one stone.
Ellsbury and Choo share similar numbers but each has his own advanced skill that makes them unique enough that could make a team lean more in one direction. Choo has an amazing ability to get on base, as seen with his .420+ OBP. Ellsbury on the other hand is an excellent base stealer, leading all of baseball this past season.
