Huskies 2013 Non-Conference Schedule

Wednesday evening, the Washington Huskies released the team’s non-conference schedule for the upcoming basketball season. Highlighting the schedule are games against Indiana (November 21), San Diego State (December 8) and Connecticut, possibly twice (2K Sports Classic and December 22).

The season tips off with an exhibition game against Central Washington on November 6, and then it tips off for real on November 10 against Seattle U. Skip ahead five weeks to see that, for the first time in years, Washington will host a premier out-of-conference opponent in the other Huskies.

The whole schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, Nov. 6 vs. Central Washington (exhibition)
Sunday, Nov. 10 vs. Seattle U
Thursday, Nov. 14 vs. UC Irvine
Sunday, Nov. 17 vs. Eastern Washington
Thursday, Nov. 21 vs. Indiana (2K Sports Classic at Madison Square Garden)
Friday, Nov. 22 vs. Boston College/UCONN (2K Sports Classic at Madison Square Garden)
Tuesday, Nov. 26 vs. Montana
Saturday, Nov. 30 vs. Long Beach State
Sunday, Dec. 8 @ San Diego State
Saturday, Dec. 14 vs. Idaho State
Tuesday, Dec. 17 @ Tulane
Sunday, Dec. 22 vs. UCONN
Friday, Dec. 27 vs. Mississippi Valley State
Sunday, Dec. 29 vs. Hartford

Right off the bat, it looks to be a much tougher non-conference schedule than normal for UW. Possibly playing two games against a top-25 team in UCONN, while playing two road games and a team that held the No. 1 ranking in the country last season will certainly look good on the Huskies’ résumé come Selection Sunday. Though, that will only matter if Washington can succeed against the difficult slate of games.

The Pac-12 schedule is expected to be released soon. It’s been rumored that the Huskies will play five of their last conference games at home.
