As we continue our list of the 20 Most Interesting Seahawks, we come to our first rookie. The Seahawks second round pick, Ethan Pocic from LSU, is sure to get some playing time this year, but his selection brings more questions than answers to the Seahawks in 2017 and beyond.

Ethan Pocic, a college center, who was drafted as a tackle, who now might become a guard, is full of questions. The pick was questionable at the time. The one position on the Seahawks offensive line that seemed stable was center.

With Justin Britt coming off his best season, why draft a center?

It appears that Pocic was drafted to compete at right tackle. Right tackle being the position that 2016 first round pick Germain Ifedi now plays. Again, questions arise. Is Seattle giving up on Ifedi after 1 season?

Seahawks General Manager John Schneider told reporters that they had Pocic so highly rated, they contemplated trading up to ensure they get him. So what was it about Pocic that made him such a priority for the team? Why draft a college center with Britt, the established starting center, and Ifedi, a first round pick, set to start at RT? Simply put: Ethan Pocic makes the offensive line better.

NFLbreakdowns‘ Samuel Gold loves Ethan Pocic, giving the pick a solid B+. You can watch his breakdown here. But what makes Pocic the 16th most interesting player in 2017?

The questions surrounding his selection make force him onto this list alone. Is Pocic here to push Germain Ifedi? Is he the eventual replacement for Justin Britt? Can he push Mark Glowinski out of his right guard position? If not, why take a backup lineman in the second round?

The Seahawks coaching staff will be charged with finding the right combonation to protect Russell Wilson. However; it is Ethan Pocic who must force his way into the plans. Will he make it happen? Only time will tell. Until then, Pocic remains a very interesting player.
