We break down the Seattle Sounders’ 0-0 tie against Houston Dynamo, with three takeaways from a disappointing evening at CenturyLink Field.

If truth be told, things were going a little bit too well for the Seattle Sounders, after four straight wins. A fifth consecutive victory on Wednesday night would have secured a playoff spot and strengthened their case for a home game in the first round.

However, that would not have fit with the narrative of 2016. This season has not been remotely predictable, or more to the point straightforward for the Sounders.

As such, it really shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Rave Green were held to a 0-0 tie against Houston Dynamo. That’s right, the same team which currently sits bottom of the Western Conference.

On the positive side, at least the Sounders moved up to fourth place in the standings, with a couple of games left to play. (The less said about their final two opponents, the better.) Let’s break down the result, with three takeaways from a frustrating encounter against the Dynamo.
