All the Latest Injury News Ahead of the Seattle Seahawks Crucial Week 11 Clash with the San Francisco 49ers

As a result of the Seattle Seahawks loss to the Arizona Cardinals last week, Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers takes on added importance. From here on out, the Seahawks can only afford to lose one more game, if they are to have realistic hopes of qualifying for the postseason.

As such, this week’s injury report has received even more scrutiny, with one name in particular standing out: Marshawn Lynch. While the Seahawks are – quite rightly – big favorites against the 49ers, they would still prefer to have their enigmatic running back on the field.

In that respect, Lynch has been listed as questionable with an abdomen injury, which has kept him out of practice all week. Pete Carroll was quoted as saying his star runner is “on the positive side of questionable”.

However, despite coach Carroll’s positive outlook, it remains to be seen if Lynch will be available for action against San Francisco. If he is unable to go, rookie Thomas Rawls will be expected to carry the load, backed up by Fred Jackson.

The only two Seahawks who have definitely been ruled out are wide receiver Paul Richardson (hamstring) and linebacker Bruce Irvin (knee). The loss of Irvin resulted in Seattle waiving running back Bryce Brown, so they could promote Eric Pinkins to the active roster, to provide depth at the linebacker position.

Out of the players listed as probable, only cornerback Cary Williams and defensive end Michael Bennett did not participate in practice. Williams has been dealing with a hip issue, while Bennett’s absence was not injury related.

The two players have had contrasting fortunes this season. Whereas Bennett has thrived, with 33 tackles and 6.5 sacks, Williams has struggled to fit into the Seahawks secondary.

Also listed as probable, wide receiver Doug Baldwin (toe), linebacker K.J. Wright (knee) and defensive end Demarcus Dobbs (shoulder), have all been limited in practice this week. However, all three should be on the field against the 49ers.

Rounding out the injury list are left tackle Russell Okung (toe), tight end Luke Willson (toe) and defensive end Cliff Avril (ankle). All three are listed as probable, and participated fully in practice this week.
