Ten Biggest Winners of the 2015 NFL Draft
10) Jacksonville Jaguars
- 1 (3) Dante Fowler Jr., Florida OLB
- 2 (36) T.J. Yeldon, Alabama RB
- 3 (67) A.J. Cann, South Carolina OG
- 4 (104) James Sample, Lousiville SS
- 5 (139) Rashad Greene, Florida State WR
- 6 (180) Michael Bennett, Ohio State DT
- 7 (220) Neal Sterling, Monmouth WR
- 7 (229) Ben Koyack, Notre Dame TE
There only thing keeping the Jags from being higher on this list is the T.J. Yeldon pick. He’s good in space, but doesn’t look like a complete NFL back to me. And with Ameer Abdullah still on the board, this pick was really surprising to me.
Apart from that, Jacksonville nailed it. Dante Fowler Jr. is the kind of pass rusher Gus Bradley can rebuild that defense around, with the potential to be every bit as good as 2012 Chris Clemons and more. And what Fowler is to Clemons, Michael Bennett is to Red Bryant. Bennett isn’t quite as big, but he is a versatile D-lineman who can play in the 3, 5, or even 7-techniques depending on the situation.
A.J. Cann will more-than-likely start week one at RG or C and while the same cannot be said of James Sample, he is a big-hitter with big-time potential. Greene doesn’t have a particularly high ceiling, but he is a good route runner who produced like crazy in college. Also, watch for Ben Koyack. Julius Thomas will obviously be the feature guy in the passing game, but Koyack is one of the best run-blocking TE’s in the draft.
