Seahawks Vs. Panthers Position-By-Position Preview: Quarterback

Both Russell Wilson and Cam Newton are part of the generation of QB’s that forever changed the job description of the position. But there are some big differences between them.

While Cam Newton might be the most physically gifted player to ever play the position, he doesn’t have the IQ or decision-making that Russ has. He also lacks in certain intangibles such a leadership. When the Panthers get behind – or he makes a poor play – his body language reflects it. When Carolina gets in a hole, they rarely climb out of it. They lost six games this year by 18 or more points, and averaged a 17-point margin per loss.

If Seattle can assert themselves early, look for this one to get ugly. Although Russ and the Seahawks offense have struggled against Carolina’s defense the past few years.

Advantage: Seahawks
