The Seattle Seahawks are going to beat the Denver Broncos and hoist the Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl XLVIII. Do you know why this is the case? Eli the ape made the prediction.

Are you ready for this? Apparently there is an ape in Utah, and he has picked the last six Super Bowls correctly. Vegas is going to fire all of their actuaries and start picking team logos in the ape’s cage on a daily basis.

The name of the ape is Eli, which has a small bit of irony to it. Wouldn’t it be something if Eli the ape correctly picked against Peyton Manning?

Is this what the sports world has become? Are fans really putting their money on a primate that makes his team choices by grabbing a papier-mache helmet?

All joking aside, there is ample reason to feel confident in the Seahawks victory. Russell Wilson is ready to put his stamp on the NFL. Marshawn Lynch survived media day and is ready to rumble in New York. Percy Harvin is eager to make his mark on this season. Richard Sherman and the defense want to back up their words one more time.

Victory will not be easy. The Seahawks will need to slow down a powerful Broncos offense while scoring a few points of their own. Easier said than done.

And yet, there is reason for excitement. There is reason to believe. Why? Eli believes and he has been correct for the last six years.

Let’s make it seven straight.

Final score: Seahawks 34, Broncos 24
