________

At 7-1, the Seattle Seahawks are tied for the second best record in the NFL. Their opponent, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are winless and only the Jacksonville Jaguars hold the bragging rights for NFL’s wort team over the Bucs.

The Seahawks are still without Percy Harvin, Russell Okung and Breno Giacomini and now must also play without Sidney Rice who has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Expectations will still be high for the offense going against such a weak opponent, especially at home in front of the 12th Man.

As you can see, with the loss of Sidney Rice, two of our staffers are picking Doug Baldwin to have a breakout game and earn MVP honors for the Seahawks this week. Do you agree, or do you think that someone like Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch or maybe Earl Thomas will be more of a factor?

Definitely agree – Hawks will take the day. Look for Jermaine Kearse to have a strong game. Golden Tate and Doug Baldwin will get a lot of the Bucs attention. GO HAWKS!

  • Todd Pheifer

The was a VICIOUS sack by Bobby Wagner!

    • http://emaraldcityswagger.com/ Paul Novak

OH MY GOD! That was just perfect.

    • David Mortimore

Ummmm….that’s going to leave a mark!

  • http://emaraldcityswagger.com/ Paul Novak

So Marshawn sat out an entire series? Again?

  • Todd Pheifer

Seahawks off to yet another slow start. Is it too much to ask for a nice, 80-yard touchdown drive on the opening possession?

    • http://emaraldcityswagger.com/ Paul Novak

Looks like it. Hopefully with a fully healthy o-line they’ll have a bit more chemistry and things click. Harvin will help too.

  • http://emaraldcityswagger.com/ Paul Novak

Are they purposely calling these BS plays against the Hawks? ET didn’t commit a foul on that PI call. Turned a could be INT into a TD.

  • Todd Pheifer

Seattle defense looking very pedestrian right now.

    • David Mortimore

Is that a nice way of saying the defense stinks today?!

      • Todd Pheifer

        Something like that.

Can’t stop the Bucs on 3rd down at all. 7/8

  • http://emaraldcityswagger.com/ Paul Novak

This is just sickening. Tampa Bay up 21-0. Kearse shouldn’t be returning kickoffs in the first place. Now his fumble makes this game almost out of reach. A game is won in the 4th qtr, I know, but the defense can’t stop an average QB or rookie RB and the offense can’t move the ball. A comeback will be a miracle.

    • Todd Pheifer

Still plenty of time. Pete Carroll will get them re-grouped. Everything has gone Tampa Bay’s way thus far. Seattle will regain momentum.

  • David Mortimore

At least Kearse made up for his fumble…

  • Todd Pheifer

    Getting out the chisel…21-7.

  • Todd Pheifer

Key stat in the first half: Tampa Bay 7-for-8 on third downs.

  • Todd Pheifer

Well, Seahawks, are you a second-half team or not?

  • Todd Pheifer

A big third-down stop by the ‘Hawks. Finally.

  • http://emaraldcityswagger.com/ Paul Novak

Again the Seahawks don’t run on first and goal. Wilson throws a jump pass that’s picked off and the Hawks come away with zero points on that promising drive.

    So frustrating.

    What a game!
