________

The Seattle Seahawks face off against the St. Louis Rams in the first of two Monday Night Football matchups this season.

As with every game thus far, the Seahawks are favored to win. What is new is that this is the first road game that the Seahawks are projected to win by double digits in nearly a decade. Linemakers have the spread at -11 for the Hawks and the point total at 43.

As they mentioned in the linked post, it seems that people around the country love to bet on the Seahawks no matter what the spread is. I’m definitely in this boat too as the Seahawks take on a team that wasn’t very scary even before they lost the starting QB, Sam Bradford.

With Kellen Clemens taking over, the Seahawks defense will arguable face the least threatening opposing offense so far this season.

I expect Russell Wilson to have another solid game and the passing attack to finally put up some huge numbers in the dome. Marshawn Lynch will do what Marshawn Lynch does and you can bet on another GIF of BeastMode making an appearance on the site later tonight.

Are you ready for some football?

Did you guys see Darth Vader at the game?

Seahawks still haven’t allowed any points on an opening drive this season.

  • Todd Pheifer

Pretty poor pass protection on the first drive for the Seahawks.

    • http://emaraldcityswagger.com/ Paul Novak

It’s always a slow start with the Seahawks

      • Todd Pheifer

That is a frustrating aspect of this team.

  • Todd Pheifer

I have to agree with Chucky on MNF. Too many bootlegs for Wilson and too many hits. Dangerous.

    • http://emaraldcityswagger.com/ Paul Novak

And zero reason to run the same play again. Give Lynch the damn ball.

  • Todd Pheifer

I know the ‘Hawks have held the Rams to three points, but how is Zac Stacy racking up this kind of yardage?

  • Todd Pheifer

Russell Okung can’t get back fast enough.

  • Todd Pheifer

Great catch by Golden Tate. Absolutely no excuse for getting that taunting flag. Shame on Tate. He should know better.

    • skeletony

I was yelling at my TV as he was running down the sideline “You MORON! WTF is the POINT of doing that?!” and then the flag came in.

      • http://emaraldcityswagger.com/ Paul Novak

Jenkins was likely trash talking the whole game and it got the best of him. Tate was happy to have made a game changing play and I don’t blame him at all. Hopefully he learned from this though and finds a different way to get revenge on an opponent.

Send him a thank you card next time or something haha.

        • skeletony

Yeah that makes sense, but still…scoring a TD is all the response he needed and he almost did not score the TD because he was busy taunting (almost ran out of bounds and almost allowed a defender to catch him). It sounds like he has already addressed the matter and won’t do it again though.

  • Todd Pheifer

That is a bad penalty on Browner. He didn’t go helmet to helmet, and he was playing it as if the receiver made the catch.

  • Todd Pheifer

This game is getting really sloppy.

  • Todd Pheifer

Very weak holding penalty on Brandon Browner.

  • Todd Pheifer

These “hitting a defenseless receiver” penalties are getting ridiculous. How in the world is a defender supposed to stop himself when he doesn’t know that the ball is not going to get caught? I don’t care what Gruden says. That is a bad call.

    • http://emaraldcityswagger.com/ Paul Novak

I really don’t think they understand what that rules really means. A receiver going for a ball is fair game. A defender can’t stop their momentum and magically know, “hey, he’s not going to catch this one, let me back off.”

  • Todd Pheifer

    Exhale!

  • Todd Pheifer

An ugly win, but I’ll take it.

  • skeletony

This win was disturbing. THIS team that just now barely held off the Rams is NOT going to go into San Fran and avoid getting blow out. I hope Okung and Giacomini (spelling?) get back soon and there are no setbacks for Harvin. I was complaining when we kept settling for field goals against the Colts and a few others but at least we were getting into FG range!

    • http://emaraldcityswagger.com/ Paul Novak

This team will be healthier when we face the 49ers and hopefully Okung is back by then. The Hawks don’t HAVE to go looking for offensive line help on the trade market but I think they should and will.
