This kid is smarter than these two.

Yesterday morning I linked to an article that was submitted to a newspaper in San Francisco by a couple of 49ers fans. The letter complained about the unfair advantage of the 12th Man and essentially wanted the crowds volume to be lowered to acceptable levels where both the home and away teams would have equal ability to communicate on offense and defense.

I won’t lie. When I first read the piece I got a bit upset and thought to myself that these two are just a couple of idiots. You’re seriously complaining about fans at a football game cheering too loudly? Really?

Dori Monson from KIRO Radio was able to have the two 49ers fans on his show yesterday. The two older guests were fairly eloquent with their reasoning and logic behind the letter, and it became obvious they aren’t unintelligent people, but the two ultimately ended up sounding like bitter losers to me.

What was the most frustrating part of the show was that the two continually claimed that Seattle is the only stadium that acts this way. “This way” meaning that we’re loud when our defense is on the field and quiet for our offense. I’ve been to home games for the Seahawks, Browns, Dolphins and Chiefs and each and every fan base acts this way. The two might not be stupid, but I do think that they really are ignorant and uninformed when it comes to the game of football.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the letter as well as their appearance on the show (linked to here if player below isn’t working). Listen in and let me know what you think.
