Rays vs Mariners: James Paxton Making his MLB Debut

Mike Zunino, Taijuan Walker, Nick Franklin, Brad Miller and Abraham Almonte. All of these guys are top Mariners prospects who made their debut at the major-league level sometime this season. Two names are missing from the list. Two of the “Big Three” pitching prospects have yet to follow Taijuan Walker to the Mariners clubhouse and start an MLB game on the mound of Safeco Field.

Today that list adds another as James Paxton makes his major league debut against the Tampa Bay Rays, leaving Danny Hultzen, who many thought would be the first of the three to debut for the Mariners as the lone wolf in Tacoma.
